Kure Beach, NC (zip code 28428) is the second of the smaller towns that make up Pleasure Island. Kure Beach is mostly residential, with approximately 2000 year round residents. Ft. Fisher Road and Dow Road are the 2 entrances to the town....and you will know when you arrive! Along with the smell of fresh salt air, you will also be greeted by pretty pastel beach homes. Kure Beach is a friendly relaxed family beach, wide open, unspoiled, and unlike some other "tourist traps" without the high-rise hotels stretching for miles....nothing but elbow room for sunbathing shelling surfing or enjoying the clean blue Atlantic.
The Kure Beach Pier in the center of town, is one of the best fishing piers on the East Coast, over 700 feet long, with plenty of stories to pass along. Plenty of restaurants, accommodations, amusements, and activities to keep the whole family busy, weather for a weekend or to make your permanent home.
