Carolina Beach on Pleasure Island
Carolina Beach is one of the two towns (Kure Beach is the other) that make up the island of Pleasure Island. 
Pleasure Island is a great name for this little piece of pure enjoyment!! It is a perfect place to enjoy water sports, fishing, sun-bathing, or just relaxing! Hospitality has long been a trademark of Carolina Beach. It is a unique resort community and makes a pleasant vacation stop any time. Carolina Beach is Located 30 miles from the gulf stream, where the mild temperatures and warm waters offer endless hours of fun, and sun from mid-April through November. Visitors enjoy relaxing and sunning on the white beaches, to fishing, boating, surfing or wave riding in the blue-green ocean.
The town is located about 15 miles from downtown Wilmington, NC, situated right between the Cape Fear River and the Atlantic Ocean.
Carolina Beach has a lively central business district with a wholesome family environment and a wide variety of shopping facilities, from small specialty shops to shopping centers. Fresh, locally caught seafood is plentiful at many of the fine restaurants, as well as Italian, and Mexican, convenience food, home cookin’, steaks or barbeque. And don't forget to visit the boardwalk, Britt's Donut Shop and take part in the weekly Farmers Market and the outdoor movies.
Our favorite place (and there are many here) on the island is Freeman Park. 
It is a haven for beach goers and water sport enthusiasts....the park has natural beauty of waves, dunes and sand....with no hotels, boardwalks, or beach homes, over 4 miles of beach!! The park is only accesible by a 4x4 vehicle, where your own perfect private spot could be had right next to the Atlantic Ocean. The best part is that overnight camping is allowed in some zones as well as open fires and all your beach gear is right there with you in your 4x4 –
no need to lug all your equipment with you on a hot summer afternoon across a parking lot or through town. Freeman Park is perfect for families, fishing, and all around fun!
Many styles of homes grace Carolina Beach from oceanfront condos, vacation rentals, single family residences, and multi-family homes with room for the largest family.
